Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, one of the demands presented by the CJP-supported Gen-Z protest, was accepted by the Indian government on July 25, 2026. However, Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has spoken out about the protest’s other demands.
After welcoming the Indian Education Minister’s resignation, the Cockroach Janta Party said that it would continue its protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital until all its demands are met.
The remaining demands include compensation of ₹1 crore for the families of all students who died by suicide, no action against any of the student protesters, and the reported resignation of the Delhi Police officer who objected to the lathi-charge.
Amid the success and the words spoken at that moment (First Message After CJP’s Ends 37-day Jantar Mantar Protest), when the entire crowd was cheering in victory, Abhijeet Dipke, founder of CJP, said:
- “What did they used to say? What did they say? There are no resignations in this government”,
- “We want to say: the world bows down when there is someone who can make it bow”,
- “This resignation is proof of this: if you people are not afraid, if you people do not bow down before this government, then we can take the resignations of even the most powerful people.”,
- “This is a democracy. If you start being afraid to speak in a democracy, then what kind of democracy is it?”,
- “And it is necessary to keep them in line. Because these people, who today have started considering themselves kings, are sitting there because of us.”
The Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is the first resignation in the Modi government, and surprisingly, it is the first resignation in 12 years that came in response to a demand.
In his resignation letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pradhan spoke about his decades-long connection with the education sector and reiterated his dedication to addressing the aspirations of India’s younger generation, and said:
“For more than four decades, I have been associated with students, teachers, and the cause of education reform. I have always believed that a strong, inclusive, and forward-looking education system is the foundation of a strong nation,”
